Typically, you can't get full access to the MLS without being a realtor or having a real estate license. Real estate agents can help you get access to the MLS. Limited access is available through real estate websites such as zillow.com and redfin.com.
The MLS is actually one of the worst places to be looking for properties. This is because it is highly competitive and cannot finely target the types of deals you're looking for.
