Prospecting is something that is done to generate potential opportunities on properties.

This can take the form of networking with other people who see potential deals that you're not able to see, such as wholesalers or real estate agents. You'll want to build a relationship with these people that goes just beyond the deal to build rapport, keep in touch with them, and keep in contact without only asking if they have any deals.

Prospecting can also take the form of calling, texting, and leads on properties. You can skip trace information for owners of properties that meet the criteria you're looking for, then reach out to them to generate interest and hopefully secure a deal! You can also go Driving for Dollars, door knocking, send postcards, or send emails.
